Includes the area west of Central Park from 60th Street north to Columbia University. There are many neighborhoods in this large area, and again many co-ops and condos amongst the residential buildings. In the last few years, the Upper West Side has become a very popular area with families and professionals and therefore the prices have gone up. Central Park is the great highlight to this area. The park offers so many different activities, depending on the season and one's own interests. There are also great museums to visit, for example The Museum of Natural History, as well as fantastic theater and music, including Lincoln Center and Julliard.

| The most expensive part of the Upper West Side is from Columbus Circle to the 80's along Central Park West and Columbus Avenue and west from West End Avenue to Riverside Drive. There are many prewar co-ops and brownstones along the Central Park and along the west side near Riverside Park. Prices vary due to location and building type, but the bottom line is it is an expensive area.

| Between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenue and west to Broadway, there are many residential buildings, both co-op, condos and rentals. There is tons of shopping, restaurants, theaters and services all along this area. There is some incredible architecture to be seen in this area, for example The Ansonia, on Broadway and 72nd Street.

| Columbia University begins on West 114th Street and continues north to approximately 122nd Street. Columbia University owns a huge amount of the real estate in the area and therefore finding an apartment can be difficult. Many students become flexible when faced with the obstacle of finding an apartment near campus and so in the last few years the areas below and above have become infiltrated with students.
