Gramercy Park is one of the hidden treasures of Manhattan. The neighborhood runs from 14th-23rd Streets along the East Side.
The actual park is located on Irving Place between 21st & 20th Street. It is the only private park in the city and to obtain a key you must be an apartment owner in the immediate area. There are many co-ops and rental buildings in the neighborhood, along 2nd and 3rd Avenue, as well as services and shops.
It is a quiet neighborhood, with many families and professionals. Union Square borders on the West Side of Gramercy, and is a great place for shopping, people watching and eating. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays there is a farmers market in the center of the Square with fresh foods and produce.
North of Union Square, from 16th-23rd Street, along Broadway, is known as the Flatiron District. This a great area for high end apartment furnishings, antiques and shopping. You will find some of the most unique architecture in Manhattan in this triangle.
